Privacy Policy

BARQ DEV LLC ("Keepsake," "we," or "us") provides Keepsake for Shopify stores. The app lets a store's customers add a name to a product for a fee set by the store. This policy explains what information the app handles and how it is used.

Information the app handles

About the store. The store's Shopify domain and name, its contact email and owner name as Shopify provides them, the app's settings, plan, installation status, and the Shopify access credentials the app needs to work. Access credentials are stored encrypted.

About products. The products the merchant picks in the app (their ID, title, web address and picture) and a hidden "Name fee" product the app creates in the store. The app also reads the live theme's product page templates to check that its box was added.

About shoppers. The app does not read orders or customers. A name typed by a shopper goes directly onto the cart and order in Shopify, where the store manages it like any other order detail. The app never receives or keeps it, and never sees payment card details. Shopify may send the app a privacy request that identifies a shopper. Because the app holds no shopper data, there is nothing to delete or return; the request is kept encrypted only until it has been processed, then cleared.

How information is used

We use this information only to run Keepsake for the store that installed it, to provide support, and to answer Shopify privacy requests. Information from one store is never used for another store. We do not sell any information and do not use it for advertising.

Sharing

Shopify provides the store platform. The app and its database run on a server that we operate. These providers process information only as needed to provide their services, and information may be processed in the countries where they operate. We do not share information with anyone else.

Retention and deletion

Copies of incoming Shopify notifications are deleted after 30 days. Shopify's customer and store privacy requests trigger deletion of the matching data. Encrypted backups are kept for 14 days, so deleted data leaves the backups within 14 days. When a store uninstalls Keepsake, its data is deleted after Shopify's store deletion request arrives. The hidden "Name fee" product stays in the store, and the merchant can delete it.

Your choices and contact

Merchants can uninstall the app at any time. Shoppers can contact the store they bought from, or contact us. For questions or privacy requests about Keepsake, email hello@barq.dev.
